Matt Leonard

Matt has been in the 3D animation and visual effects industry since 1991 and has produced work for feature films, commercials and large corporate projects. He is currently Director and Head of Training at spherevfx, his own company that specializes in teaching 3D, Compositing and Visual Effects tools and techniques.  Over the years Matt has taught artists from companies such as Industrial Light and Magic, Framestore, Dreamworks Animation, MPC, Weta Digital and Double Negative. He also teaches part-time at the University of South Wales on their Master Degree course in Visual Effects.
Matt is listed on IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and is a member of the Visual Effects Society.  His work has been shown at various festivals including the Sundance Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival.  He has also spoken at various trade events and conferences and is a published author.
In addition to this, Matt developed, teaches and is the examiner for the official Nuke training certification program for The Foundry. He is a regular Professor at FXPHD where his courses have included Maya, Nuke & Modo Integration, Katana and Fusion. He is a regular co-host on The VFX Show and is a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES).  He has spoken at various events and shows (incl. IBC and Digital Media World) on behalf of Alias/Wavefront (now Autodesk), eyeon Software, The Foundry, and Solid Angle, and has run workshops at Digital Storytelling, the VFX Festival, and SAND. Finally Matt has had articles published in a number of journals, magazines, and websites including 3D World , Showreel Magazine and fxguide.
